Curriculum

At D. R. Amin Memorial School,
we follow the Central Board of Secondary Education,
New Delhi
 syllabus. One of the most preferred curricula in India, the board has developed a flexible and student-centered curriculum that aims to foster the intellectual, social, and emotional development of students.

Kindergarten
(Nursery, K 1 & K 2)

Kindergarten is the first step in a child’s formal education, and it is an important phase that prepares the child for later stages of their academic and personal journey through learning with fun.

Our 3-year pre-primary programme has adapted its curriculum from Riverside school, Ahmedabad run by Ms. Kiran Sethi. It is designed to promote the holistic development of children with key focus on early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and emotional intelligence. Our experienced teachers create a warm and welcoming environment that fosters creativity, curiosity, and imagination. They also work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure that children receive the support they need to thrive.

Educational Approach

Primary & Middle School
(Class I to VIII)

Primary education focuses on providing a foundational strength to prepare students for the more advanced academic challenges that they will face in high school. Although Primary school is the threshold of formal learning, the classes continue to be vibrant and stimulating at D. R. Amin Memorial.

Working, listening, sharing and playing together are an important activity in Primary and Middle School. Our teachers ensure that each child’s individuality is taken into consideration to facilitate better understanding and effective learning. The curriculum is designed to develops skills in creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving alongside a planned sequential course of study of English, Hindi, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Social Studies, Science and Computers. Gujarati and Sanskrit are offered as third language from class VI.

Secondary School
(Class IX and X)

Secondary school typically focus on providing students with a broad and diverse curriculum that prepares them for higher education, vocational training, and the workforce. This necessitates meticulously planned curriculum that balances organized study time with co-curricular activities.

Continuous and comprehensive evaluation with emphasis on holistic development is at the centre of this stage. Our class room teaching methods evolve into observation, experimentation, group discussions and project work. The students are given opportunities to understand in a broader dimension and apply their knowledge to problem solving and decision making. The academic curriculum is further enhanced through inclusion of Art, Music, Sports and other co-curricular activities.

Sr. Secondary School
(Class XI and XII)

Classes XI and XII mark the final stage of our children’s formal schooling and necessitates much more than regular academic courses. We offer guidance and support through the entire process of preparation for both board and competitive examinations. Career counselling is also extended to help students make informed decisions for their future.

Besides developing basic concepts in each area, the CBSE curriculum is designed to help the learners acquire skills to apply theoretical knowledge in their day-to-day life and prepares them for their career and life ahead. Projects and activities are an integral part of this curriculum. Teaching methodology now involves more of projects, presentations, group discussions, workshops, and seminars.
